By visiting Omniya Clinic, you can have that stunning glow you’ve always dreamed about.
This anti-ageing treatment is a chemical exfoliation process, which penetrates the skin’s deeper layers, causing the top layers to shed – hence the name ‘skin peel’.
The process stimulates collagen, increasing cellular turnover, leaving you with fresh and radiant skin. These treatments work exceptionally well if you are experiencing acne and scarring, discolouration, poor texture, and hyperpigmentation.
Enhance the look and feel of your skin and skin texture, reduce dark patches, freckles, or age spots. Treat certain types of acne, improve the appearance of mild scars. Treat wrinkles that have been caused by ageing and sun damage, reduce fine lines around the mouth and under the eyes.
We will always start off with a consultation. This is important so that we can determine which strength peel is going to be suitable for you. We will discuss your lifestyle habits, skin types, skin goals and any events you may have in the near future, as well as, assess the current condition of your skin.
A lighter, milder peel may be the best option for your first treatment, such as mandelic acid or lactic acid. However, we will talk you through all of the options suitable for your skin type, and come to a solution that works for you. The milder peels will still stimulate cellular turnover, resulting in the glow you may want to achieve, yet they do so on a much milder level. The consultation will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have as well.

The below are some of the benefits and results you can achieve with a chemical skin peel:
This will depend on the depth of peel and following the aftercare provided, but as an example, it will take approximately 1 week to heal after you have had a medium chemical peel.
It is important that you follow your practitioner’s directions on cleansing, moisturising and SPF/protection on your skin after any chemical peel.
After a light chemical peel, your skin may be:
The more peels you have, the less noticeable these effects may be.
Recovery is typically 1-7 days after a light chemical peel.
After a medium chemical peel, your skin may be:
Your practitioner will give you guidance on how to relieve any discomfort, for example with a fan or ice packs, but please follow specific aftercare provided.
Treated areas take approximately 7-14 days for recovery, with redness lasting longer.
After a deep chemical peel, your skin may be:
It is imperative to follow your doctor’s guidance on aftercare following a deep chemical peel. New skin should develop within 2 weeks, although you may experience spots, cysts or redness which can take a number of weeks to recover.
We recommend that our patients do not use any acne-fighting products or retinoids for at least five days prior to their visit. These sort of products are only going to increase the chance of experiencing a burn. The key here is skin rejuvenation; therefore, we don’t want the skin to be damaged further, and so there really is no need to continue with those products.
A lot of people try to speed up the peeling process once it begins. You shouldn’t do this. Forcing the process is not recommended. This is how you end up with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Accordingly, use a gentle and mild cleanser and gently massage your face with it, simply using your hands. If you were to use a washcloth, you would be wiping the dead skin away prematurely, and that’s not the goal here. Forcing the process won’t give you the results you’re looking for.
No, you don’t have to stay locked up! If you have a stronger peel, such as a glycolic acid one, it will begin to peel around two days later. The skin can then shed for anywhere from three to five days. During this time, it is really important to keep your skin hydrated with sunscreen and a gentle moisturiser, as well as limiting your exposure to the sun.
You may feel a bit of slight tingling or burning sensation during the treatment. This will only a matter of minutes. This can be eased by putting a cool compress on the skin, although we also offer fans to keep the skin feeling cool. Most patients report mild discomfort from the procedure, rather than pain.
It is not essential to see visible peeling. Whether or not this occurs, you will notice improvements in the tone, texture, and overall appearance of your skin. If you are having the treatment on a frequent basis, you may not see it visibly because the layers of dead skin cells are now at a healthy number; and peels are intended to remove this external layer of dead skin cells.
You can have a facial at almost any time, subject to a consultation with one of our friendly therapists!
We have some incredible specialists, who will be happy to discuss skincare options with you. They can also guide you on which skincare is appropriate after your treatment, and also advise on a sensible skincare regime for the months ahead.
Glycolic acid will help freshen up dull, tired or worn out skin, which exfoliate and resurface. A glycolic peel is generally suitable for all skintypes, but a consultation is always required before a treatment, including glycolic.
