You may not be able to have this anti ageing treatment if you have:
Generally, light-haired and fair-skinned patients are better candidates. However, don’t let this put you off if you have darker skin. Depending on the concern, you can still have good results. We will talk you through all of your options.
If you’re experiencing severe wrinkles, bulges, and skin sags, we may recommend a different type of treatment, such as soft tissue filler or laser resurfacing. We will help you to determine which is going to be most appropriate for you.
If you are unsure as to whether or not you are the right candidate, all you need to do is give our friendly and experienced team a call and they would be more than happy to help you.
When you are ready to begin, we will prime your skin by using a pre-prep solution. You can also use a fan to help you with any sting or tingling sensation. We will then start to peel. This will take around 30 minutes, although this can differ from patient to patient. Once we are finished, we will apply a post-peel moisturiser and some sunscreen, and then you’re good to go.
For results, it will usually take between two and three weeks for you to see the full results. This is once your skin has healed. For deep or medium, it may take a bit longer. Sometimes it can take a few months before the results are evident, but your skin will look smoother, radiant, and vibrant.
This is sometimes referred to as superficial, which will remove the epidermis – the outer layer. This can be used for treating dryness, uneven skin-tone, acne, and fine wrinkles. You may be able to have this as regularly as every two to five weeks, depending on the results you’re looking to achieve, and skin-types.
This will remove skin cells from the epidermis, as well as portions from the upper part of the dermis, which is the skin’s middle layer. Medium depth can help uneven skin tone, acne scars, and wrinkles. In order to maintain results, you can repeat between every three and nine months.
These will remove skin cells from the epidermis, as well as the mid to lower layer of your dermis. If you have precancerous growths or deeper wrinkles, this may be the best solution for you.
If you have scars on your skin, whether from acne or something else, this could be the perfect treatment solution for you. This treatment can enhance the appearance of mild scars through the use of a chemical solution to get rid of the outer layer of old skin. The skin that replaces it will be less irregular in appearance and a lot smoother too.
This depends on the type of peel you have. Deep, for example, you will need to wait a bit longer for your next one than if you were to have a superficial. A lot of our patients tend to have a treatment once every four to six weeks. However, we do have some patients who suffer from acne and have one every fortnight until they end up with their desired result. It really does differ from person to person. This is why the consultation phase is so important.
The number of treatments required will depend on the skin condition that is being treated. Multiple peels are needed for acne or sun damage. You ought to see improvement after every visit yet most patients require around six to see the complete effect.
Before starting, one of our experienced practitioners will conduct a physical exam and review your medical history. There are a number of things that you can do as well. This includes the following:
