While many of us would prefer to see a contoured profile when we look in the mirror, several people worldwide suffer with a double chin; often referred to as submental fullness. Caused by slackening of the skin beneath the chin and on the neck, a double chin can dramatically affect confidence, making sufferers appear older than they actually are.
While there are various physical exercises that can be done to reduce the appearance of a double chin, specialist procedures are available at Omniya to regain definition between the jawline and neck.
Before going ahead with treatments, one of our experts will arrange a one-on-one consultation to tailor your treatment to your personal needs.

There are multiple factors which contribute towards the appearance of a double chin. The most common factor being the effects of ageing, as the skin loses elasticity and causes excess skin to sag.
Some people are more prone to developing submental fullness than others, which is often down to genetics. However, weight gain can also increase fat production in this area which is particularly difficult to remove despite exercise and dieting.
Additionally, if a person has poor posture, then the muscles in the neck and chin can become weakened, causing a double chin to develop over time.
A double chin occurs when there is excess fat volume under the chin and neck area which gathers around the neck to create a wrinkle. A double chin can make the face to appear droopy, causing a person’s face to look tired, old and loose.
In extreme cases, there is a complete lack of definition between the jawline and neck, causing many individuals to feel insecure about their appearance.
Here at Omniya, we offer a number of treatments to improve the appearance of a double chin, ranging from minimally invasive surgery to microneedling.
Named after the device which is used during this treatment, Morpheus8 combines radiofrequency and microneedling for fractional resurfacing, stimulating the production of collagen. By targeting the skins deeper layers, the directed area will appear smoother and sleeker.
It should take between two to four weeks after treatment to notice the reduction in your double chin. After one month the tissue starts to contract and the difference will be starker. Continued improvement occurs for up to six months.
Elevating the head for up to three days afterwards reduces swelling. Do this by sleeping on several pillows on in a recliner chair. Cut back on chewing and chatting for two days helps, as does a diet of soft or liquidised foods.
FACEtite is the faster-working option.
There is no difference between the sexes in this regard.
